Prof. Xiaoming Huang is a professor/chief physician, doctoral supervisor, and the director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. His main research fields are function preservation surgery and radical surgery for head and neck tumors, salvage surgery for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, transnasal endoscopic skull base surgery and rhino-orbital related surgery, etc.

 He is one of the earliest experts who carried out gasless endoscopic and robotic minimally invasive surgery for thyroid and head&neck tumors in China. He has also carried out the robotic assisted thyroidectomy and head and neck surgery, including trans-oral robot surgery (TORS) for oropharyngeal cancer, laryngeal cancer, recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma, etc. In addition, he edited "Neck Endoscopy Surgery(supported by the Guangdong Provincial Excellent Science and Technology Monograph Foundation)" and is preparing the first book about "Robot Head and Neck Surgery(supported by the National Science and Technology Academic Publication Foundation. )" .
