Professor Yu Wang is Professor and Chief of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center. As a key member of the multidisciplinary Head and Neck Oncology Program, Professor Wang specializes in surgical management of thyroid cancers and head and neck malignancies, with particular expertise in endoscopic/robotic surgeries, function-preserving laryngeal/hypopharyngeal procedures, and complex reconstruction of postoperative defects.
A pioneer in surgical innovation, Professor Wang directs the Program in Endoscopic/Robotic Assistant Head & Neck Surgery and leads various national and international multi-centre clinical trials investigating neoadjuvant therapies for locally advanced thyroid cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). His research has been published in high-impact journals including Head & Neck, Thyroid, Clinical Cancer Research, Nature Communications and Cell Discovery.
Professor Wang is a member of the expert committee for thyroid cancer quality control of the National Cancer Center and the National Tumor Quality Control Center. He is currently the Standing Committee Member of the Head and Neck Tumor Professional Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association. He also serves as the Vice President of the Thyroid Tumor Professional Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, the Head and Neck Tumor Professional Committee of the China Medical Education Association, the General Surgery Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, the Thyroid Disease Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, the Rehabilitation Professional Committee for Laryngectomees of the China Disabled Persons' Rehabilitation Association as well as the Integrated Rehabilitation Professional Committee for Thyroid Tumors of the China Anti-Cancer Association.
