Dr. Herbert Yau is Consultant at the Department of Surgery of Kwong Wah Hospital. He graduated from The University of Hong Kong, with MBBS in 2013. Dr. Yau obtained Fellowships from both the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 2020. His surgical training was further enhanced through visiting scholarships at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, where he was supervised by world-renowned reconstructive surgeons such as Professor Peter C. Neligan, Dr. Geoffrey G. Hallock, Professor Joon-Pio Hong and Professor Fu-Chan Wei.

Dr. Yau’s clinical expertise lies in advanced reconstructive microsurgery, focusing on both primary reconstruction of oncologic defects and secondary procedures to restore function and aesthetics. His clinical approach combines meticulous microsurgical techniques with a strong emphasis on patient-centred care, aiming to optimize both oncologic outcomes and quality of life for patients undergoing major head and neck surgery.
