Dr. Herbert Yau graduated from The University of Hong Kong in 2013 and became a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in 2020. He received mentorship from world-renowned reconstructive surgeons, including Professor Peter C. Neligan, Dr. Geoffrey G. Hallock, Dr. Joon-Pio Hong, and Dr. Fu-Chan Wei, during his visiting scholarship at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Linkou, Taiwan.

Dr. Yau's clinical focus lies in advanced reconstructive microsurgery, particularly in the primary reconstruction of head and neck cancer defects. He is also dedicated to secondary procedures that restore function and aesthetics, aiming to improve patients' quality of life. His practice integrates surgical innovation with patient-centered care to optimize outcomes in complex head and neck cases.
