Brian Lang

Prof. Brian Lang is currently the Chief of Division of Endocrine Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. He also serves as the Director of the Surgical Skills Training Center at the Department of Surgery, The University of Hong Kong.

He received his MBBS degree from the University of Sydney, Australia with Distinctions in Medicine and Surgery in his final MBBS exams. He received his Master of Surgery degree at The University of Hong Kong with the thesis focusing on Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma.

He has published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and 20 book chapters in thyroid diseases. His clinical and research interests include benign and malignant thyroid diseases, parathyroid tumors, adrenal and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. He has pioneered the use of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) in the treatment of benign thyroid disease. He is the President of the Hong Kong Association of Endocrine Surgeons and is an editorial member of several international journals including the World Journal of Surgery, Journal of Thyroid Disorders and Therapy, Case Reports in Surgery, World Journal of Endocrine Surgery and World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
